American Blackout

I spend most of my Saturday afternoons at the weekly film screenings at the Schomburg Research Center for Black Culture. A majority of the films shown thus far have been related to the Civil Rights Movement, but this past weekend was different! There was an excellent documentary featuring my new hero, Cynthia McKinney, that explored black voter disenfranchisment. I urge everyone to check it out. We might have a black president, but we still have a long way to go.
